I'm so glad that my baby sister is well again!

Screenshot 2016-11-21 at 10.42.32.png
On Saturday, the 19th of November, my family rushed my baby sister to the hospital. We packed two bags as fast as we could before my dad came home to drive us to the hospital. The bag that my mum asked me to pack my baby sister's bag. I packed some clothes in case she vomited again. Meanwhile, my sister prepared our bags for us. She packed some clothes for my mum in case my baby sister vomited on her and some food.

When we arrived, we went to the information person to ask where we could take my baby sister. He said that we have to take her to the children's emergencies. When we got to the parking lot, we tried to find a parking spot, but we couldn't find one. There were only some empty spaces in the adult emergencies department, so my dad dropped us in front of the entrance of the children's emergencies and went off to look for a parking. When we went in, I could already hear some crying. A toddler was crying and I assumed that she was hurt in some way. My mum told my sister and I to sit down while she talked to the receptionist. I asked my sister where my phone was and she pointed to her Nike bag. I took it out and started playing my 3D ninja game.

After a while, my sister heard my mum's phone ringing so she took it out and It was my dad. She brought it to mum so she could answer it. Before she answered it, my dad walked into the hospital. Then my sister said to put my phone away because we were going, so I did.

We  followed a nurse who led us to where we stayed. She told us that we were going to stay in cubicle B. When my mum put my baby sister down on the little bed, she started crying. My sister and I panicked and looked around for something for her to play with. After looking around quickly, we found some books on a shelf so we took one. It was about a police dog. She started flipping the pages but she still wasn't happy. My sister went outside, but I didn't know why, but soon she came back came back with a car that my baby sister could fit in. My mum put her in and my sister and I started pushing her around in the corridor. Soon my baby sister was happy and steering the wheel.

Afterwards, we went back to the cubicle and my mum took my baby sister out of the car and put her on the bed. My sister and I went out to put the car away and we saw a little girl colouring a picture of dinosaurs with felt pens. We went back and asked our mum if we could go to the children's colouring room, and of course she said yes.

When we arrived in the colouring room, we ended up colouring for a little girl because she was struggling to colour in a picture of dinosaurs.  While she was colouring, I was reading a story that was written on the wall. It was about a happy couple sailing through the sea. There were toys, obviously. There was also a pretend pirate ship with an actual pirate ship steering wheel. After that, I went to my sister and ruined her picture, because I put some dots around the dinosaurs and she ended up making boomerang clips .

Before long, we went back because we heard our baby sister crying. We opened the curtains and saw mum carrying her and she was able to fall asleep. My sister sat on the chair, so I didn't have a chair to sit on, so I told my sister to move over so I can sit next to her. I took my phone and started playing games again. After I played three stages, a nurse went in to check on my baby sister and She was already asleep, so the nurse talked to my mum quietly. She said that we could go home after she wakes up. All of a sudden, my baby sister woke up and our work begun. We packed our bags and was ready to go home.

My favourite part of the day was when my baby sister woke up because we were able to go back home, because I was getting a little bit annoyed of the babies and the toddlers crying so I was very relieved that we could go home!

I didn't know that snow was so cold!

Image result for snow mt ruapehuOn Saturday, the 20th of August, My family and I woke up at 3 o’clock in the morning to get ready to go to Mt. Ruapehu. My aunt forced my mum and dad to go with them. We had to prepare our thermal clothing with us because it will be very cold there. I brought out a very thick coat and a hoodie. My mum brought out my dad’s cycling leggings for me to wear and then I wore my jeans over it.

Before very long, we set off to my aunt’s and uncle’s house so we could follow them to our destination in the car. However, they were still getting ready. They were packing lots of food into the trunk of their car.

When they were finished, my dad parked our car outside and we waited for them to come out. Two hours later, we weren’t in Auckland anymore, we stopped near a shop and my dad went out of the car to hang out with his friends. We watched Garfield in the car while we were waiting. A few minutes later, one of my dad’s friends came in the car and sat on the passenger seat to talk to my mum. After a while, dad came back to the car and we set off for another hour.

Eventually, we arrived at a gas station near Mt. Ruapehu. It was cold when we got out of the car. Then my uncle came into the car to give us some chocolate marshmallows. We went out from our cars to go to the toilet at the gas station. The girls went in the toilets first and while I was waiting, I ate some salted crackers. After they came out, it was my turn to go in. I felt scared because the lights were turning off every 10 seconds. After that, we went out of the shop and went back to our cars to head to our destination, Mt. Ruapehu. When we were getting close, I could see the snowy mountains!

As soon as we arrived there, we ate some of the food that my aunt and uncle had prepared. It was spicy Filipino dishes that I loved to eat. We ate all the food that our stomach could carry. After we ate, we joined the line in front of the shuttle bus to go to the top of Mt. Tongariro. We hopped on the bus after we got our tickets.

I was so scared because the bus was very close to the edge of the road. Thankfully, we arrived there safely. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot. My sister and I played in the snow on the side of the road. My sister borrowed one of my gloves and picked up some snow. I already knew what she was going to do so I ran away. She wanted to pick a snow fight with me.

Later on, we went to the ski lifts to go to the part of the mountain that had the most snow. The ski lift was really fun to ride on because I was high up in the air. After my sister went to the toilet, we went to look for my mum. We found them watching other people skiing. My mum told me to slide down a little slope with my shoes. I walked back up sideways and did it again.

After a few slides, a very kind Filipino family lent us some plastic sleds. I wanted to try it, so I got on one. I started off slow and when the slope became steeper I went down the hill really fast. When I was halfway down the hill, I went towards the sledding lane ridge and slid beside it. I pushed it with my foot to get away from it. I saw a stop sign, so I stopped my sled with my foot. When I went back up, I asked my sister to have a race with me and she agreed. I failed two times and lost the race. Soon, I stopped sledding and I just watched the others sled. A few minutes later, we sat down on the snow to have a chat. After a while, the others stopped sledding and we went back to the ski lifts to go back to where the shuttle was parked. We went back down the mountain, again I felt scared.

When we arrived, we took out some more food to eat. My sister and I brought out some spaghetti that we had prepared. We ate all the food so that we would last the 4-hours drive home. I had two helpings because it was very delicious, my dad had cooked this dish for my baby sister’s 11th month birthday. After that, we put all the leftovers in the car and set off home.

My favourite part of the day was when I was sledding because it was my first time and I haven’t tried it before. I will never forget that day!

You really shouldn't live near an active volcano!

Image result for volcano diagram
Volcanoes erupts because of the core's pressure. From the magma chamber, the magma rises.

Volcanoes are mountain that have openings that allows the magma to go out. Lava, gas, ash and rocks erupts out of the opening. The openings are called craters.

Volcanoes erupts along the boundaries from the Earth's plates, where molten rock is forced up to the crater from the magma chamber. The core can also cause a volcano eruption, it gives pressure to the magma chamber which makes the molten rock rise.

Sometimes volcanic eruptions cause lava to flow out. If the lava reaches the forest, it can cause forest fires. Lava flows can burn houses as well.

It was a very tiring day!

On Saturday the 3rd of July, my family and I decided to clean our house. We used blue microfibre towels, sweeping brushes and dust pans. The house was really dirty!

I started in the kitchen. My mum told me to mop the whole kitchen until it was colourless. Of course, my mum was joking. She meant she want it to be spot less. It only took me 5 minutes to clean before it looked quite good, so I rinsed the towel and went to the bathroom to mop the floor.

The bathroom was a small place so it took me less than two minutes to wipe the floor of the bathroom. Soon the bathroom floor was sparkling clean. Then my mum told me to wipe the floor of my bedroom.

I wiped my bedroom's floor and had a hard time doing it because there were a lot of hard to reach places. I had to mop underneath my bunk bed that my sister and I sleep's on. I had to hold on to the ladder and wipe with my feet. After that, I had to go under the bed to wipe the corners. Finally, after that I was done.

My favourite part of the day was when I mopped the bathroom because that was the fastest room for me to clean. It was very tiring. I think I might try dragging the towels to be more efficient next time.

The tiny, dirty spiky ball looks so ugly!

On Saturday, the 2nd of July, my family and I went to my mum's friend's house. It had a really grassy back and front yard. There was a huge lemon tree. Their house was beautiful! When we went inside the house, we stepped on a really clean rug.

Image result for soccerball
My mum's friend had just finished vacuuming the rug before we arrived. My mum's friend invited my sister and I to eat some of the left over food from little Grachel's birthday party. We had crème caramel some carbonara and pork blood stew, they were all my favourites! We ate some of the crème caramel first. It's just the right sweetness for my throat. I wasn't sure why we ate the dessert first. Then we ate the carbonara. it was very creamy from the cream. Then the final dish was the pork blood stew. We ate it with freshly cooked jasmine rice It was the best taste that my tongue has ever tasted. After that, we went outside to play with little Grachel.

However my sister was inside the house, so I was the only the one playing with Grachel. I saw a soccer ball but I just ignored it. That was a first for me because soccer is my favourite sport. I pushed the swing that Grachel was on and the swing went back and forth.

After that I took the soccer ball and started dribbling it. Grachel wanted to play as well so I gave her the ball and she kicked it. I tried to catch the tiny, dirty, pumped up soccer ball and I caught it but my jandals broke, so I went to ask my dad to fix it for me. My dad tried to fix it but he couldn't. It was really complicated, so I played soccer without my right jandal. After a little while, I felt tired so I sat down for a bit. Then my dad's friend gave me a pair of sport shoes and they fitted perfectly! Grachel and I went back to playing soccer for a bit. Then my mum said it was time to go home.

My favourite part was when I got my new sport shoes because I didn't have to buy any. That was the best!

It is very hard work cleaning up the house!

On Saturday, the 25th of June, my mum, my sister and I decided to clean up around out my house because we were bored. We used sweeping brushes and dustpans to sweep and clothes to wipe.

We started with our own rooms. My mum told me to sweep my room because it was very dusty. I swept for a few minutes and I was soon finished. Then my sister started to wipe the floor with a red cloth with four stripes. She wiped the floor intensely so that it looked shiny. While I was waiting I went to my mum's room to play with my baby sister in her cot and then I started sweeping again.

After that, I swept the most spacious room in the house and was soon finished. Then I went to my room and told my sister that I had finished. I started reading my book while I waited. Then my mum told me to sweep the hallway that leads us everywhere, so I did. I shook the floor mats because I thought there might be dust under them as well.

Then my sister went out of my mum's room and headed to the kitchen to do some more cleaning. My mum went out taking my baby sister with her. After a few minutes, I finished and we were all able to rest.

Netball is so much fun!

On Friday the 6th of May, we had our first session of netball in the top court after morning tea. The weather was quite hot which caused my classmates and I to feel exhausted by the end of the session. Our coaches’ names were Tina and Mark.

The first thing that we did was to stand and form a circle and say a little bit about ourselves. I introduced my name, my age and what I wanted to be when I grow up. After that we did some warm ups by jogging to the end of the court and back. My other classmates were more like running instead of jogging because they thought that it was a race. I was doing what I was told to do, I just jogged. Next, we had to stretch doing big steps forward.  I tried to go as slow as I can so I can feel my muscles getting stretched but in the end I ended up going fast. The next warm up was to balance. We had to stand with one foot, balance our body weight then bump each other so we can learn how to control and not fall.

Afterwards,  we had to get a partner and get a ball to pass it to one another. My partner was new to St. Patrick’s school, that’s why I partnered up with him. Matej, my partner, and I were doing chest passes to each other because the coach said so. We needed to get up to ten but we were always dropping the ball. After two failed attempts of getting the perfect scores, my partner and I finally did it and we were  so happy. But what we did not expect was that it would lead us to a more challenging activity. We needed to get further and further back every time we got ten passes. At first, it was difficult but then we got the hang of it so it became quite easy.

Then, we had to go in teams with one ball and each team contains three people. Lucky me because I just had to team up with the good ones, Vaughan and Soane. There was a bit of confusion for me during the practise. They were going way too fast for me to focus but in the end I mastered the skill and I did well. So it just went smoothly as we swapped for the ball. Then we got called by our coaches who made us gather around them. Our teacher instructed me to tell the next class that the coaches were ready for them. It made me miss the warm down which was some random stretches but I did not mind at all.

My favourite part of the day was when I had to partner up with the new student because it just felt like I was able to help him by teaching him some skills about netball. That was the most fun netball session with fantastic coaches, Tina and Mark.

The acid is so hot!

I want to be a vulcanologist when I grow up. A vulcanologist is someone who studies the process of an active volcano to analyse whether it erupts or not. They either check the water beside the volcano or the crater of the volcano. Their focus is to save people from a volcanic eruption and move them to a safer place.

I hope my broad bean seed grows soon!

 You will need:
* A broad bean seed(obviously)
* Yogurt pot
* Soil

What to do:
1. Get your yogurt pot ready.
2. Then gently fill your yogurt pot to the brim.
3. Next, you push your pinkie finger in the soil to make a hole twice as deep as the length of the broad bean seed.
4. Then put your seed with the smiling end facing up.
5. Then cover up your seed with more soil.

After 6 or 7 days, you will see a little seedling sprouting up.

Rex and Jack!

Rex was a new boy from all boys’ school. He has brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a light, blue polo shirt, dark blue shorts and steel toe shoes. He also wears glasses.

He was walking on the path and suddenly a boy came running along beside him. He felt scared. After the boy left his side, Rex went to the nearest boy to ask his name and told him “That’s Jack, The BULLY of the school”. After that, he went to his class and saw a familiar face. It was JACK! Oh Problems !

However he gathered up all his courage but when he went inside the class he pretended to not see Jack. Then the teacher called Rex to introduce himself. He silently said “Ugh, come on”. After that, the teacher made him sit on the vacant seat beside Jack. He said in his mind, Oh no!

Within the first few weeks, he saw Jack bullying a young boy. Rex ran to help the boy. Rex yelled “Jack! Stop hurting the poor boy”. However Jack didn’t say anything and just walked away.

As weeks passed, Rex kept on stopping Jack from bullying others and Jack’s bullying became less and less.

One day Jack was bullying others. Rex saw him again and called “Jack, please stop! Please!” came out of his mouth again. Jack looked at Rex and said, “Okay! I’ll stop”.

On the last day of the year, Jack said “Thank you for changing me Rex”, Rex said. Rex and Jack became friends after that!
